A Rhea County man is facing charges of child rape and aggravated sexual battery after being indicted by the Rhea County Grand Jury on Monday.
Ronald Easter Sr., 56, is facing the charges after investigators with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department [RCSD] were notified of the alleged abuse in March, according to RCSD Investigator Rocky Potter.
“He and his wife had taken in some young family members that were under the age of 12,” Potter said. “During that stay, a girl under the age of 12 notified another relative that Mr. Easter did inappropriate things with her.”
Potter said the alleged victim was taken to the Child Advocacy Center in Chattanooga and interviewed about the suspected abuse.
“She gave good, clear disclosure about the times Mr. Easter sexually assaulted her,” Potter said.
