State Rep. Ron Travis (R-Dayton) announced Wednesday he will seek re-election to serve the constituents of Tennessee’s House District 31, consisting of Rhea, Bledsoe, Sequatchie and part of Roane County.
Travis was elected in November 2012 and has served on the following committees: Calendar and Rules, Agriculture, State and Local, Consumer and Human Resources, Transportation, Fiscal Review, and as Chairman of Insurance and Banking and Chairman of Insurance.
He currently serves as Chairman of Fiscal Review, Chairman of Sub-Commerce and is appointed to Governor Lee’s Tennessee Health Task Force.
“I am honored and humbled to represent the citizens of District 31,” Travis said. “I am seeking re-election to continue the work upcoming and in-progress, and to assist everyone to the best of my ability.”
Travis and his wife, Laura, have two daughters and four grandchildren. They reside on a farm in Rhea County.
The state primaries are set for Aug. 6, 2020, with the state general election set for Nov. 3, 2020.
