Johnson's Taekwondo Academy raises $6,500 for St. Jude
- By Christopher Hall

Johnson’s Taekwondo Academy [JTA] hosted the 5th annual Kicking For a Cure event on Saturday and raised a total of $6,500 for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. JTA students went around the community asking for donations and in return they broke wooden boards the day of the event. The breaking of the boards symbolizes “putting a break in cancer”.
The event included performances by JTA students, a hot dog plate and bake sale, haircuts and face painting by Unique Hair Salon. A donated La-Z-Boy chair was also raffled off during the event
