A routine traffic stop in Evensville by deputies with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department uncovered nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine and landed a Rhea County man behind bars on Friday, June 1, according to an arrest report on file at the sheriff’s department.

On Friday, June 1, a fire destroyed a home on Morgan Springs Road in Dayton, according to county fire department officials. While the home was a total loss, officials said no injuries were reported at the scene and that the homeowner was out of town at the time of the fire.
