Boyd Gifford, 83, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Mr. Gifford was born in Forty Four, Ark. He was the son of the late Homer Clarence and Clermont Page Gifford.  Mr. Gifford was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.   He retired from the transportation industry as a longshoreman.  Boyd and his wife, Anna, moved from Reno, Nevada to the Spring City area four years ago.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a Lay Minister for the Church of Christ in the State of Washington.

Mr. Gifford was preceded in death by his sisters, Caulma Marie Morgan and Wanience Ava Sears.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Anna Vidal-Cerreta Gifford of Spring City; son, Bruce Wayne Gifford of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Wayne Clinton Gifford and E. C. Martin both of East Wenatchee, Wash.; three grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 3, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Minister Tim Raines officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Spring City Memorial Gardens.  

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Vaughn Funeral Home of Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
