Charles Leonard Wilkey, 82, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019.
Leonard was born and raised in Dayton to the late Jesse Lee and Elizabeth Wilkey. He worked for DuPont in the maintenance department for 34 years until retiring. Leonard was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, horseback riding and gardening.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Elizabeth Wilkey; brothers, Clarence Wilkey, Arnold Wilkey, Ray Lloyd and Ralph Lloyd; sister, Helen Giles; grandparents, Cam and Ada Wilkey, and Ed and Rachel Hood.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth “Faye” Wilkey; daughter, Debbie (Rick) Gravett; son, Wayne (Tami) Wilkey; grandchildren, Chasity (Chad) Elsea, Brad (Stephanie) Wilkey and Bridgett (Jarrod) Roberts; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Annalise Elsea, Emma Holloway, Kara, Zaylee and Iryan Wilkey, and Kylan and Jessa Roberts; brother, Emmett (Bernice) Wilkey; sisters, Mildred Stinnett, Edith Revis and Wilma (Joe) Dill; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, from noon to 3 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Wilkey and Pastor Eddie Suttles officiating. Interment to follow at Brown Cemetery in Dayton.
