Doyle C. Price, 80, died Sunday Oct. 6, 2019, in Chattanooga, Tenn. Born in Rhea County, he was the son of the late Estell Gordon and Rena Dennis Price. Doyle was a graduate of Spring City High School, where he played football. He owned and operated Doyle’s Dozer Works for over 30 years. Doyle enjoyed farming; where he raised Holstein cattle and grew strawberries for many years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Doyle also liked to hunt with his friends. He attended Texas Grove Baptist Church in his youth.
Doyle was also preceded in death by his son, James Doyle Price; and his brothers, Gordon Price and Anderson Price.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Price, of Louisville, Ky., Marcia (Michael) Price Shown, of Chesterfield, Va., and Claudine Price, of Dayton: brothers, Lester Price and Kenneth Price, both of Spring City; special friend, Billy Cranfield, of Spring City; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Rothwell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before services at the funeral home.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Shown, Nicholas Denton and Billy Canfield.
