Gertrude Ann Sutton, 71, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at Hospice Center of Chattanooga.

Gertrude was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Hilltop Baptist Church in Dayton. She was a CNA for nursing homes in Chattanooga, Tenn., and always took care of others the best she could.

She was preceded in death by parents, Clarence Edward Miles and Rosie Morris Miles; three daughters, Lisa Harvey, Mary Harvey, And Rachel Harvey; and several brothers.

She is survived by children, Susan (Ray) Harvey-Sutton, of Spring City, Jimmy Smith, of Evensville, Jessie Williams, of Nashville, Tenn., and Rosa Harvey, of Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters, Imogene McGibney, of Georgia, Margaret Hurst, of Georgia, and Brenda Miles, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Edgar Miles, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Reverend Norman Huskey officiating. Interment will be at Pritchett Cemetery in Evensville.

The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m.
