Rodney Marler, 60, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.
Rodney was a longtime resident of Rhea County and a member of Old Washington Baptist Church. He was a retired police officer with Hamilton County Sherriff Department. He also served as an officer for the City of Red Bank and the City of Dayton. He served in law enforcement for over 30 years. Rodney enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy R. Marler; and sister, Jennifer Renee Marler.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Garrison, of Dayton; sister, Roxanne (Tony) Thompson, of Pikeville, Tenn.; nieces, Lindsay Marler and Kelsie (Chris) Miller; great-niece, Madison Johnson; and great-nephews, Bryston Smith, Luca Miller and Bryson Miller.
Service will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating. Interment will be at Spence Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
