Henry Eugene “Gene” Williams, 81, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Gene was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and of the Church of God faith. He loved fishing, working on lawn mowers, and playing games with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Zola Allison Williams.

He is survived by his children, Henry (Rebecca) Williams Jr., of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., Brenda Williams (John) Clawson, of Ashboro, N.C. and Jimmy (Samantha) Williams, of Dayton; sisters, Bonnie Harvey, of Dunlap, Tenn., Janie Sisco and Margaret Lewis, both of Graysville, and Wanda Clingan, of Cleveland, Tenn.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Vogan officiating. Interment will follow at Cove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m.
