Myrtice Mickel Peavyhouse, 93, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at her home in Dayton.
Myrtice was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. She attended Smyrna Baptist Church and retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Mickel and Elsie Stinnett Mickel; husband, Bill Peavyhouse; and brothers, Kenneth, Clarence, Marvin and Clyde Mickel.
She is survived by sisters, Melrose Mickel, Willie Mae Swafford, and Georgia Locke, all of Dayton, and Lois (Jeff) Coppinger, of Graysville; brothers, Felix (Mildred) Mickel, of Evensville, Jim (Sandra) Mickel, Bobby (Janice) Mickel, Rick (Yvonne) Mickel and Sam (Virginia) Mickel, all of Dayton, and Gene (Carolyn) Mickel, of Whitwell, Tenn.; sister-in law, Doras Mickel, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Rothwell and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be at Buttram Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, after 3 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Gary Peavyhouse, Jerry Swafford, Jeremy Mickel, Scott Mickel, Tim Mickel, Kelly Mickel and Tyler Mickel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shannon Sneed, Tim Mickel, Ronny Mickel and Bill Peavyhouse.
