Gary Lynn Yearwood, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., passed away early Thursday morning, July 11, 2019, at his daughter’s home in Soddy-Daisy. He was born Sept. 28, 1950, in Lenoir City, Tenn., the son of the late Richard and Ersa Watson Yearwood. Gary was also preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Elkins Yearwood; his granddaughter, Caitlyn Francis; and his brothers, Dennis Yearwood and Joe Yearwood.
Gary lived in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., for the past 38 years and had previously lived in Sale Creek, Tenn. He was an electrician and a supervisor in the service department at Astec Industries. Gary enjoyed traveling, crafts and spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of Soddy Church of God.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Francis, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., and Tracy (Justin) Dodd, of Hixson, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Cody Francis, Courtney Francis and Noah May, all of Soddy-Daisy, and Teegan Dodd, of Hixson; his great-grandchild, Jordan May, of Soddy-Daisy; and his sister, Brenda (Bobby) Wilson, of Dayton.
Funeral services for Gary will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the Vanderwall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Justice officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Darlene, in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
