Martha Jane “Monkey” Alexander, 80, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019. A lifetime resident of this area, She was the daughter of the late Darius and Bethel Lawson McFalls. Monkey was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She loved to read and to travel.
Monkey was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Alexander; daughter, Kiya Thompson; granddaughter, Dawn Marie Garrison-Parson; and her sisters, Ruby Morris, Pearl Thompson, Edna Riggs and Emma Jean Thompson.
Survivors include her children, Charles “Rinnie” Garrison, of Evensville, Michael (Tina) Garrison, of Spring City, Tonya (Greg) Wilkey, of Dayton, and Pam (Ricky) Marler, of Dayton; brother, Robert McFalls, of Cleveland, Ohio; sisters, Opal Thompson and Joann Smith, both of Spring City; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Nov. 23, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Sherrill officiating. Interment will be at 12:30 p.m. on Monday Nov. 25, 2019, at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
