Ella Mae Cornett, 87, passed away at her home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019.
Ella was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. She was born on April 13, 1932, to the late Willie Guy and Etta Taylor Marler. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She worked hard as a farmer’s daughter and helped her husband in his garage at night. She also helped him on the farm when he started to farm.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie L “Buddy” Cornett; grandsons, Jody Roberts and Brian Morgan; brothers, Thurman, Virgil and Norman Marler; and sisters, Wilma Cunningham and Alice Marler, all of Dayton, TN.
She is survived by her children, Leslie C (Janice) Cornett, Tony Louis (Alma) Cornett, of Dayton, and Willie (Ruth) Cornett, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; daughters, Nancy (Steve) Roberts and Vicky Lynn (Glenn) Myers, both of Dayton; brother, Malcolm (Wanda) Marler; and sister, Ann Beltz, both of Dayton; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rigsby Cemetery in Bledsoe County, Tenn.
