Norman Ray Everett, a lifelong resident of the Sale Creek community, died peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family at the age of 76, Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019. Norman served honorably in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic. He later retired from Dupont of Chattanooga. For many years, Norman was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Sale Creek. He also volunteered as a Shriner, and faithfully served for over 25 years in the Sale Creek Masonic Lodge No. 280 and was raised to the degree of Master Mason.

Norman was preceded by his parents, JB and Ella Everett, of Sale Creek, Tenn.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 53 years, Shirley Wilson Everett; caring daughters, Mechelle Renea (Mike) Flowers and Sherry Irene (Keith) Moore; loving sister, Marcenia Gay Sisson; nephew, Scott Hamby; grandsons, Phillip Austin Everett Franklin, William Daniel Moore and Michael Everett Moore; four step-grandsons, Brady Flowers, Stephen Flowers, Marcus Flowers and Clinton Flowers; and step-granddaughter, Katelyn Flowers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. and will include a Masonic Ceremony starting at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Lee Wilson, of Dayton, officiating. Norman will afterwards be taken to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church to be laid to rest peacefully and honorably with a military ceremony.
