The Dayton City School (DCS) Sweatbee basketball teams hosted the Meigs Middle School Tigers on Monday night, and came away with a win apiece between the two schools. The Lady Sweatbees fell 57-2, as Grace Fugate led the Lady Sweatbees in scoring with two points. The DCS boys avenged the Nov. 19, 51-38 loss to Meigs by defeating the visiting Tigers 46-32.

The DCS boys scored 10 points in the first period, 11 in the second, nine in the third and 16 in the fourth, and won three out of four quarters to secure the 14-point win, as Bryce Dupre dropped in 26 points to lead the Sweatbees past the Tigers. The Sweatbees led 21-12 at the half.

Dupre scored five in the opening quarter, including a 3-pointer, and tallied 12 in the fourth period to help guide DCS to the win. In a combined team effort, Ethan Davis totaled 13 points for the Sweatbees, while teammate Rex Pendergrass controlled the boards.

Scorers for the Sweatbees include: Dupre 26; Davis 13; Rex Pendergrass 4; Kyler Akin 3.

The DCS squads will host Athens Middle School on Thursday, Dec. 5, with two junior varsity games beginning at 4 p.m., and varsity games to follow at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
