This year's Spring City Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament had a record turnout, with 19 teams and more hole sponsors participating than ever before.

The tourney, which took place on Wednesday, June 3, at the Dayton Golf and Country Club, marked the 14th anniversary of the event.

Miss Spring City 2009 Jazmine McClendon presented prize checks to the winning teams following the conclusion of the tournament.

The team from A+ Technical Service, made up of Hunter Green, Marshall Taylor IV, Dr. Marshall Taylor and Steve Brown, took top honors.

The TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Plant team took second place, made up of Tim Saunders, Anthony "Champ" Prince, Bob Baldwin and Mike Skaggs.

The TVA/ WBNP Team, however, presented the prize check back to Spring City Chamber of Commerce.

Third place was won by the Howard Johnson Hotel Team, made up of Brian Gunter, Brownie Boles, Scott Travis and Gary Penny.

Ray Talley took home the prize for hitting closest to the hole, while Alvin Dodson earned honors for the longest drive.

The hole in one grand prize, a 2009 Harley Davidson Super Glide sponsored by First Bank of Tennessee, was not won, but was on display during the tourney, courtesy of Smokey Mountain Harley Davidson out of Maryville.

The Spring City Chamber of Commerce wished to thank all the volunteers that came out and helped with the tournament, namely Shelly Kirchner, Sally Harshbarger, Tara Rhinehart, and Debbie Tilley with Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center and Cindy Smalling with Air-Evac Lifeteam.
