Rhea County wrestling reeled in one medal at Tuesday's Region III JV Tournament, hosted by the Golden Eagles in Evensville.

Heavyweight Jesse Campos finished fourth in his division, qualifying for the JV Championship Tournament on Feb. 9.

The big man fell Walker Valley's Zach McAllister in 1:31 and defeated McMinn County's Daniel McFarris by a 4-2 decision on his way to the medal finish.

Meanwhile, several other Eagles played well, but did not advance.

At 145 lbs. Brandon Crowe narrowly missed a post season berth, falling in the quarterfinal round to Stone Memorial's John McCarty. Prior to that, however, Crowe pinned Walker Valley's Jeremy Payne.

Hunter Latshaw also compete for Rhea County at 145 lbs.

Spencer Massengill recorded two wins at 119 lbs., pinning Walker Valley's Jacob Blackburn in 2:24 and taking a 10-0 major decision over fellow Mustang Braxton Brewer.

Michael Hidalgo (125 lbs.) rounded out the Golden Eagles' representatives in the tourney, falling Cleveland's Sam Hazelton in 2:59 and winning a 10-3 decision over McMinn County's Tyler Leamon.

The time and location for Tuesday's tournament has yet to be determined.
