Walk for Life Fundraiser (9/14) — The Care Center, located at 285 Main Street in Dayton, will host their annual “Walk in the Love” Walk for Life fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 14. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. in The Care Center parking lot. The event is free, however walkers are encouraged to collect sponsorships to help raise funds for the Center. Benefit Fundraiser for Jeff Skinner (9/14) — A Benefit Fundraiser will be held for Jeff Skinner on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rhea County Welcome Center, located at 107 Main Street in Dayton. The event will include live music, food and a silent auction. Jeff is undgoing chemotherapy for Stage 4 Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and has no insurance coverage. Rhea County Historical & Genealogical Society (9/15) — The Rhea County Historical & Genealogical Society will meet Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Grandview History Center beginning at 2:30 p.m. Featured speaker will be B.B. Blevins, Rhea County native and member of the Grandview Heritage Foundation. Those attending are asked to park in the lot beside the Grandview Community Center.

Burdett Family Reunion (9/21) — The Burdett Family will hold a Reunion on Saturday, Sept. 21, at teh Rhea County Welcome Center, located at 107 Main Street in Dayton, beginning at noon. All Burdett’s (no matter HOW you spell it) (George/Eda families) are welcome. Those attending are asked to bring food, drinks, family history to share.

Morris & Woody Family Reunion (9/21) — A Morris & Woody Family Reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Veteran’s Park in Spring City beginning at 11 a.m. with lunch at 1 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish, dessert or drinks to share.

Fall Arts & Crafts Festival at Walden’s Ridge Community Center (9/28) — The Walden’s Ridge Community Center, located at 5364 Dayton Mountain Highway in Dayton, will hold a Fall Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday, Sept. 28. This day-long event will feature, food and arts & crafts vendors, music and more. Everyone is invited to attend.

Watts Bar Lake Association Annual Meeting (9/28) — The Watts Bar Lake Association will hold their annual meeting on Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Family Life Center of Spring City United Methodist Church, located at 245 Church Street in Spring City, beginning at 6 p.m. TWRA Fisheries Chief Frank Fiss or a member of his staff will be the guest speaker. A catered meal will be provided to WBLA members, spouses and prospective members by Uncle Gus’ with $15 charge for additional family members and guests . In addition to the meal and guest speaker, the WBLA will conduct a brief business meeting and elect directors for the coming year. Bakewell Tri-County Poker Run & Cruise In (9/28) — The First Annual Bakewell Tri-County Poker Run and Cruise In will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at Dayton’s Point Park, beginning at 10 a.m. with registration. Kickstands Up will follow at 11 a.m. The Cruise In will start at 3 p.m. The event will also include food, games and cake walk and silent auction. Hee Haw Show at Walden’s Ridge Community Center (10/4-10/12) — The Walden’s Ridge Community Center, located at 5364 Dayton Mountain Highway in Dayton, will hold their Fourth Annual Hee Haw Show on Friday, Oct. 4, Saturday, Oct. 5, Friday, Oct. 11, and Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. Children’s Re-Education Center Reunion (10/5 & 10/6) — The Children’s Education Center (Re-Ed) later re-named Smallwood, located at Moccasin Bend in Chattanooga, Tenn., will hold their annual Reunion for students, faculty and staff on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 5 p.m. each day. Coffee and light pastries will be provided. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a lawn chair as well as any photos of the school during these years. RSVP by Sept. 26. Spring City Autumn Festival (10/12) — The Town of Spring City will host their annual Autumn Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 9 a.m. The event will include vendors, music and activities.

The Care Center’s Muddy Pumpkin 5K Run (10/26) — The Care Center will hold their annual Muddy Pumpkin 4K Run on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Rhea County Courthouse. Registration and pumpkin picking begins at 9:30 a.m. with the run starting at 10 a.m. Participants will run, wade and crawl through downtown Dayton, all while hauling their pumpkin. Preregistration begins Sept. 2 at a cost of $40 per person or $35 each for a group of 4 people. General registration will be held Oct. 1 through Oct. 26th at a cost of $45 dollars per person or $40 each for a group of 4 people. College students will receive $10 discount with student ID and for youth ages 6 to 12 the cost is $20 per person. Children ages 5 and under are free but will not receive a T-shirt or pumpkin. Line Pro Wrestling Fundraiser at Sale Creek High School (10/26) — A Line Pro Wrestling Fundraiser will be held at Sale Creek High School on Saturday, Oct. 26. This event titled “Tank’s Scenic City Throwdown” will feature local legends Jax Dane and Tank. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $15 for floor seats. Tickets are avaialable from any SCHS football player or girls soccer player.

Youth Talent Show at Walden’s Ridge Community Center (12/13) — The Walden’s Ridge Community Center, located at 5364 Dayton Mountain Highway in Dayton, will hold their Fourth Annual Youth Talent Show on Friday, Dec. 13, beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and children under six will be admitted free. Christmas and the Spring City Depot (12/14) — The Town of Spring City will hold their annual Christmas at the Depot featuring the 56th annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will include vendors, music, home and business decorating contests and a children’s pageant.
