Children trick-or-treat along Market Street in downtown Dayton during a previous PumpkinFest.

MainStreet Dayton recently released the schedule for 2021 PumpkinFest, which is slated for Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30, in downtown Dayton.

On Friday, Oct. 29, from noon to 9 p.m., food and craft vendors will be set up on the Rhea County Courthouse lawn, and downtown merchants will have sidewalk sales and in-store sales until 8 p.m.

At 5 p.m. the Punkin Chuckin Contest will be held on the courthouse lawn, followed by the Child’s Movie Night on the courthouse lawn stage, with a showing of “Spookly the Square Pumkpin.”

From 6 to 7: 30.m., Brandon Maddux will perform on the Centennial Park Stage, followed by Johnson’s TaeKwonDo at 7:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., Movie in the Park at Dark will be held with a showing of “Monster House.”

Festivities resume on Saturday, Oct. 30, with the Muddy Pumpkin 5K Mud Run on Market Street, beginning at 9 a.m.

From 1 to 3 p.m. festival-goers can register for the Costume Contest at Centennial Park, and registration will also be held for the Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest from 2 to 3:30 p.m., also at Centennial Park. The Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest begins at 3:30 p.m., and the Costume Contest begins at 4 p.m.

There will be entertainment throughout the evening on Saturday on the Centennial Park Stage with Center Stage Dance at 2 p.m., Boots and Roses at 5 p.m., Abounding Grace at 5:30 p.m., Moon haven Studio at 7 p.m. and Mother Legacy at 8 p.m.
