At their annual meeting and retreat in August, the National Association of Christian Athletes Inc. [NACA] elected new officers for the coming year.
Merrill Eckstein was elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees, replacing the retiring Dr. Bob. Dr. Coddington will remain an active member of the board as Chairman Emeritus. Also selected by the 11-member Board of Trustees were J. Wayne Cropp as Vice Chairman and Jane Wilkey as Secretary/Treasurer.
Eckstein brings a wealth of sports knowledge to his new position. Eckstein retired in 2014 after having served 17years as President of the Greater Chattanooga Sports and Events Committee (1992-2009), followed by five years as the Executive Director of Finley Stadium (2009-2014). He became a member of the NACA Board of Trustees in 2017.
NACA is a Christian organization with headquarters at Fort Bluff Camp on Dayton Mountain, whose mission and vision is to utilize camps, retreats and tournaments as a platform to transform young lives through the Word of God so they will impact communities for Jesus Christ; and to encourage the body of Christ.
The board also announced NACA’s key personnel John Ballinger (President) and Dave Sekura (Executive Director) will continue running day-to-day operations of the camp and NACA.
