On Tuesday, April 20, at around 6:15 p.m., Graysville firefighters were alerted of a structure fire at 4424 Dayton Avenue.
Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke showing from a side of the structure. Firefighters made a forced entry in the dining room area and were able to contain the fire to the room of origin, although there was smoke damage throughout the structure.
Two dogs and one cat were also rescued.
The cause was electrical in nature. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
