A Rhea County man has been indicted for first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection to the discovery of the body of a Bradley County woman in Rhea County in September.
Guy O’Connell, 44, was indicted by the Rhea County Grand Jury and is currently in a Lawrence, Kansas, jail. According to reports, local prosecutors are seeking O’Connell’s extradition to Rhea County from Kansas, where investigators said he was staying with family.
The body of 34-year-old Amber Monday was found in a shallow grave in early September on Dayton Mountain, according to reports, not far from Laurelbrook School.
Investigators were soon able to tie O’Connell, who reports describe as Monday’s boyfriend, to the disappearance and death of Monday.
