Doris “Cowboy” Houston, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tenn.
Born on May 8, 1945, Cowboy was lifetime resident of Spring City. She was a graduate of Rockwood High School, “Class of 1963” and also a graduate of Roane State Community College. Doris was a hairdresser after high school and was also an accomplished artist. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of Spring City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Willie Mae Galyon Rogers; half-brother, Sandy; and sister Iris Houston.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry Houston of Spring City; children, Freda (Michael) Hickey of Kingston, Tenn., and Jason (Michelle) Houston of Spring City; and grandchildren, Ryan and Kade Houston and Chloe Houston.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Price officiating. Interment will follow at Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
