James Clifford Mears Jr., 63, of Dayton, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Rhea Medical Center.
James was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and attended Potter’s House of Prayer. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He made family time a happy and fun time.
He was preceded by his parents, James Clifford Sr. and Annie Mears; and sisters, Katherine Maye and Evelyn Sneed.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Jane Mears; children, James “Bubba” (Patty) Mears of Dayton, Pamela Maynard, Don (Jessica) Mears and Tonya (JL) Kilgore all of Graysville; sister, Patricia Mears; brothers, Charlie, Matt and Randy Mears; grandchildren, Logan Jordan, Dakota Roddy, Elizabeth and Eli Maynard, Nevaeh, Jaxon and Sam Mears, and Levi, Chelsea and Elijah Kilgore; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Jump officiating. Interment will be at Pierce Cemetery in Evensville.
The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
