George Orlando Brown, 87, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was a longtime resident of Rhea County and of the Seventh-day Adventist Faith. He was previously employed as a truck driver and had served as a lay minister at Ogden Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Charles Brown.
George is survived by his wife, Loretta Fisher Brown of Dayton; daughter, Georgia (Buddy) Sinclair of Dayton; daughter, Diana (Mike) Halverson of Pikeville, Tenn.; son, Gary Brown of Dayton; daughter, Ada West of Dayton; sister, Eleanor McIntyre of Florida; brother, Edwin Brown of Mio, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and so many friends and community members who felt like family.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Ogden Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Larry Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Ogden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.
