Earl Dean Stinnett, 86, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, at Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga. Earl was a lifelong resident of Rhea County, and a member of Kelly Grove Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. He was the oldest living Mason in Rhea County, a lifelong member of the Rhea County Rescue Squad and also worked for the Rhea County Sherriff’s office where he was in charge of the trustees. Some of his favorite hobbies were camping and square dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lillie Stinnett; son, Harold Stinnett; brother, Johnny Stinnett; and grandson, Geoffery Manor.
Earl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shelby Brady Stinnett of Dayton; daughter, Vicki (Mike) Holloway of Rockwood, Tenn.; son, Kimberly Stinnett of Dayton; daughter-in-law, Barbara Stinnett; special family member, Dell Christy; grandchildren, Robyn McDonald, Michael Mockbee, Joshua Holloway, Nicholas Holloway, Lillie Santiago, Deirdre Cassel and Samuel Stinnett; several great-great children; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and Masonic services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Williams and Rev. Stacey Geno officiating. Interment will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m.
