James Wallace Nunley, 71, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at his home in Spring City.

James was a long time resident of Rhea County. He attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a long time driver and dispatcher for Tyson Foods. He was a member and post commander of the American Legion. He drove veterans to Veteran Affairs facilities in Murfreesboro and Nashville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Wallace Nunley and Kathleen Smith Nunley.

He is survived by wife, Wanda Nunley, of Spring City; children, Tyrone Nunley and Julie Nunley, of McMinnville, Tenn., Chelsey Nunley, of Orlando, Fla., Cliff Churchill, of Flordia, Cassandra Churchill, Marcia Churchill and Jeff Guy, of Spring City, and Greg Evans, of Harriman, Tenn.; sisters, Frances Horn and Rita Nunley, of McMinnville, Tenn., and Ann Lewis, of Lafollette, Tenn.; brothers, Ronnie Nunley, of Florence, Ala., and Rick Nunley and Nick Nunley, of McMinnville, Tenn., 23 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
