Betty Jo Morrow Cook, 80, of Dayton, faithful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and follower of Jesus Christ, passed into eternal life, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at her home.
Betty was a member of New Union Baptist Church. She retired after working over 20 years at La-Z-Boy Chair Company in Dayton. She was known to have a servant’s heart, she loved spending time with her family and serving her church family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John C. Morrow.
She is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Eugene Cook; children, Scott Morrow, of Dayton, Teresa (Rick) Smith, of Dayton, and Lisa (Roger) Dotson, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn.; stepchildren, Tony (Cindy) Cook and Kim (Troy) Dotson, both of Dayton; grandchildren, Chris (Cindy) Horton, Blake Dotson (Ashlee), Bradley Dotson (Heather), Shannon (Chris) Randolph and Casey Smith; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Christian, Sarah and Bekah Horton and Will, Cassie, Ellie and Jack Randolph; 5-month-old great-grandson, River Trace Dotson; and step-grandchildren, Austin (Emily) Dotson, Daniel Dotson, Heather (Carson) Gibson and Heather (Danny) Helms.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at New Union Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Ruehling and Rev. Jeremy Deal officiating. She will lie in state from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Interment will be at Rhea Memory Gardens. Interment will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.
