Brenda Sue “Mimi” Moffitt, 73, of Spring City, being surrounded by family was ushered into eternity in the Presence of her Savior Jesus Christ, on Jan. 5, 2021. She was born in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Harry and Thelma Carnes Moffitt. She relocated to Rhea County and was a resident for 20 years. Brenda was an accomplished writer of poems and children’s books, a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Barbara Moffitt Murphy, Sonja Moffitt and Reba Moffitt; and brothers, Robert Moffitt and Ronald (Brenda) Moffitt.
Brenda was survived by her sister, Jewel (John) Troy of Fairburn, Ga.; sons, John (Rebecca) Burton and Thomas (Angie) Burton; daughters, Julia (Phil) Zimmerman, and Vikki (Hugh) Johnson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others who affectionately called her Mimi.
Brenda, Momma, Mimi, Bird, will be greatly missed, but because she placed her trust in Jesus for her only hope of salvation, we, her family, rejoice that she is now whole and complete in Him, knowing she is safe in His hand and we will see her again.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
