Paralee Sue “Mott” McDonald, 95 of Dayton, passed away early Friday morning, May 15, 2020 at Life Care Center of Rhea County. Mott was born on July 30, 1924, in Rhea County, the daughter of the late Boss and Elizabeth Caraway Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cedrick McDonald; brother, Albert Mitchell; and sisters, Bessie Mitchell and Virginia Suttles.
Mott lived in Rhea County all of her life. She worked at the Old Dayton Hosiery Mill and delivered Chattanooga newspapers for many years. Mott enjoyed gospel music and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by her brother, Charlie (Jan) Mitchell, of Graysville; and lots of nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service for Mott will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Buttram Cemetery in Dayton with Rev. Steve James and Rev. Luther Hollingsworth officiating. She will be laid to rest next to husband, Cedrick.
