The Dayton City School Sweatbee basketball teams hosted the North Middle School Stars on Monday night at Lynn Lane Gymnasium and posted a 1-1 record.
The Sweatbees outlasted the Stars 45-43 in a thriller that came down to the wire, while the Lady Sweatbees suffered a 59-9 setback.
The ‘Bees were led by Landon Stewart with 21 points, followed closely by Braylon Geer, who had 17 points, including three 3-pointers. Jesse Mullins tallied four points and J.P. Brannen had three points.
Tinsley Walker led the Lady Sweatbees with three points. Neylee Poole, Jetta Sharp and Sophia Hicks had two points each.
In Thursday’s action at Meigs Middle School, the Sweatbees won 37-26, as the Lady ‘Bees fell 41-2.
Scoring for the DCS girls was Grace Fugate. Geer led the Sweatbees with 16 points, which included four treys. Stewart scored 11 points, Brannen had four, as Kaisen Travis and Mullins had three points apiece.
