LAKELAND, FL - The No. 20 Bryan College Women’s Basketball team took the floor for their second game of the Southeastern University Christmas Invitational on Friday evening. The Lady Lions squared off against (RV) Talladega College for their final game of 2021. Bryan traded buckets with Talladega and slowly built a 5-point lead after one quarter. The offense got going in the second frame as the Lady Lions used a 17-5 run to extend their lead and take a 52-39 lead at halftime. Talladega won the 3rd quarter, but Bryan maintained a comfortable 11 point lead heading into the 4th. Gracee Dishman and Samantha Russell combined for 22 of Bryan’s 31 points in the final period as the Lady Lions earned the 105-79 victory. Bryan breaks the program’s single-season record for most games scoring 100 points with their 5th of the season. The Lady Lions conclude the first half of the season with an undefeated 13-0 record. Bryan also recorded an impressive 26-1 record during the 2021 calendar year.
INSIDE THE STATS
Gracee Dishman dropped 37 points and is just the 14th player in program history to reach that number.
Karli Combs tallied 21 points on 5-6 shooting from 3pt range.
Samantha Russell recorded 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Kaitlynn Hennessee added 10 points, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds.
Deandra Luna grabbed a team-high, 10 rebounds.
NEXT TIME OUT
The Lady Lions will be back in 2022 to resume conference play on January 4 at Point.
