2020 Rhea County High School Golf Team annual select shot fundraiser tournament

WHEN:  Saturday, Aug. 1, at 8:30 a.m.

Where:  Dayton Golf and Country Club

What:  4-man select shot tournament

Who:  The public is welcome to play. Walk-ups are also welcome to play.

Purpose:  1) The purpose of having the tournament is to raise funds for the RCHS boys and girls’ golf teams.

How can you help?:  1) Enter a team and come play. The cost to enter a team is $240.00, or $60.00/player.

2) Support the event by becoming a hole sponsor, for $50

3) Make Donations for prizes to be given away at the tournament. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin on hole No. 7 and hole No. 16.

Door prizes will be given out at the turn, during your round.

Schedule of events:  8:30 a.m. shotgun start—Lunch and drinks provided—Awards will be given out following the tournament—First and Second Place prizes awarded.

2020-2021 Rhea County Boys Basketball Tryouts

July 29, 2020

Seniors                          9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

Juniors                         10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Sophomores                         12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Rising Freshman            1:30 -  2:30 p.m.

Guidelines:

•            Each player trying out must have a copy of a physical dated after April 15, 2020

•            Players are asked to stay in the car until 10 minutes prior to tryouts times

•            Temperature checks are required before entry into the gym

•            Registration information will be collected prior to entry into the gym after temperature checks

•            No locker room will be provided…Please come dressed for tryouts upon entry

•            Equipment will be sanitized between tryout groups

RCHS Tennis Tryouts

Anyone interested in trying out for the RCHS 2021 tennis team, please contact the coaches by email ASAP.  This applies to rising 9th, 10th and 11th graders.  Girls Coach is Lil Andrews at andrewsl@rheacounty.org   Boys Coach is James Fields at fieldsj@rheacounty.org

Rhea Middle School Girls Basketball Tryouts

Tryouts for the upcoming Rhea Middle School (RMS) girls’ basketball team will be held Monday, Aug. 3, from 3-5 p.m., at the RMS gymnasium. This is for any girl that will be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade who will be attending RMS this fall. ALL players wanting to tryout MUST bring an updated physical.

Players should bring their own drinks and dress appropriately. No contact of any sort will take place during this tryout. We will clean the balls prior to and provide germ-x. Parents will need to register their player and then go back to vehicle. Any questions, call or text (423) 827-6371 and ask for Coach Whitney Thompson.

There will also be two open gyms this week on Tuesday, July 28 and Thursday, July 30, from 4-5:15 p.m. at the RMS gym.

Rhea County Community Center (RC3) Fall Sports Sign-ups

Sign-ups/registration for tumbling, soccer, volleyball and flag football began Monday, July 27.

Tumbling for ages 3-year-olds up to high school will be held on Tuesdays, from Sept. 1 until Oct. 27.

Soccer, volleyball and flag football will run from Sept. 12 until Nov. 7. Volleyball and flag football grading day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22. Practices will be held once a week, with games on Saturdays. Flag football for boys K-8th grade. Rec soccer is 4 years old to 13. Volleyball is for 3rd graders to high school.

Registration for soccer closes on Aug. 19. Registration for volleyball and flag football closes on Aug. 22. Financial assistance is available.
